We currently have 2 Nexus 7K units in a VPC domain and both are identical with M1 and M2 modules in the same VDC; this VDC is where all production traffic is located as well as the peer link, a L3 link, etc... We added a 40 Gb F3 module to each 7K but because it’s not compatible in the same VDC as the M1 & M2 we placed it in its own VDC. Two ports on the F3 connect the 7K units for a 40 Gb EtherChannel but are not configured yet to pass any traffic.
A breakout cable will be used to connect the F3 VDC to the M1/M2 modules and VDC and we will also connect our new Nexus 5K and 9K to the F3 for 40 GB connectivity. I’m able to get us this far but I’m having a mental block of how to configure the 40Gb EtherChannel between the 7K units and the breakout on the F3 VDC to work with the existing M1/M2 VDC.
