Hello,
Anyone know what this crash means? This is a 6509 with a single Sup720

Hi Daniel,
what you saw is a CPU parity error, meaning that your Sup720 encountered a memory parity error and crashed (expected behaviour).
A parity error occurs when a bit value gets changed from its original value (0 or 1) to the opposite value. This occurs as either a soft parity error, or a hard parity error. In the case of a soft parity error, the bit value is flipped in memory due to an influence external to the router at the current level. This type of problem is transient and will not repeat. A hard parity error occurs when the bit value is changed by damage to the memory. In the case of a hard parity error the
problem will occur every time that region of memory is used, and you will see multiple events within a couple of days. In the case of any type of a parity error, the best course of action is to monitor on the first occurrence and replace on the second.

Interesting to note that cause n.1 of parity errors is cosmic rays!!! So by no mean this is a clear indication of hw failure. Statistically soft errors happen much more frequently than hard errors.
