Hi,

I’m currently struggling with configuring multiple VLANs on a firewall that is connected to two Layer 3 (L3) switches. Below is a breakdown of my setup:

Network Setup:

  1. Firewall: The firewall has the following connections:
    • G1/1 connected to the outside router.
    • G1/2 connected to the active L3 switch.
    • G1/3 connected to the standby L3 switch.
  2. Layer 3 Switches: I have two L3 switches configured with multiple VLANs, and I want them to route traffic between the VLANs.
  3. VLAN Configuration: Multiple VLANs are configured on the L3 switches, with routing between them enabled.
  4. DHCP Configuration: I would like to configure the L3 switches to provide DHCP services for the VLANs.
  5. Goal: I need to ensure that devices in different VLANs can communicate with each other and that I can ping the outside router from an internal device.

Thank you for the fast reply.

Yes, I understand. I have already configured the Layer 3 VLANs and successfully set up DHCP for each VLAN, so devices in the VLANs can request IP addresses successfully. I’ve also set up HSRP. The remaining issue is configuring the inside and outside interfaces for the firewall.

But your SW is L3 so inter-vlan is done in SW not in FW.
