Need help regarding on Network Infrastructure

Hi Folks,

I want to ask if this topology and Network IP Subnetting is possible. They want to use single subnet which is 192.168.80.0/24. They have 2 connection 1 is for internet access and 2nd is for IPVPN connecting to HQ. I'm not sure if this one will work. The 2960-X will do the routing going to internet and to IPVPN. Please I need help for this. I appreciate your kind help and response.

Hi,

If you want the 2960x to do the routing, you need another subnet between the 2960x, SANGFOR and the firewall. Not sure about the WAN optimizer but you probably need another subnet between the 2960x, WAN optimizer and IPVPN router.

Also, the 2960x series switches are mainly used for layer-2. If you want to use it as router, you need to look at the requirement as it has limited layer-3 functionality.

Actually I already told them that 2960-X is limited on Layer 3 Functionality but they still insist to do the routing on 2960-X. They say default route will be going to Firewall then just add static route going to their IPVPN router. I'm not sure if this one will work actually. Anyway the 2 Sangfor will just in a bridge mode only.
