You can face the same problems again which was resolved by implementing the STP and VLAN. In the easy word, Its depends on your network, your knowledge, and devices.
Most common problems with STP as the wrong switch elected as bridge or wrong port elected as root. L2 looping issues and most common issue which also given by STP is "Alternative or backup" port down. Now, how to resolve the issue? its totally depends on the condition and type of effect on the network.
VLAN is implemented to divided a big broadcast domain into small-small domain but again you can face many issues as routing, arp, communication in interVLAN or intraVLAN etc. I hope how to resolve the issue required a practice, study and background knowledge about the product or protocol.
