Nexus 5000 vs SPAN

Hi all,

We are looking to change our small data center catalyst switches for a setup of Nexus 5000/2248. We are using SPAN for our IDS and for several other appliance. Now I'm reading the Nexus documentation (maybe old one) and I see I can only have TWO simultaneous SPAN sessions running.

Is it still the case ??? I find this very limiting.

thanks

The Nexus 5010/5020 is limited to 2 active SPAN sessions. However, the newer Nexus 55xx supports upto 4 SPAN sessions.

Q. How many SPAN sessions does the Cisco Nexus 5548P support?

A. The Cisco Nexus 5548P supports up to four active SPAN sessions.

HTH,

We are going with two  5596UP for the core. I suppose 5596UP have same number or more.

So I should have at minumum 8 active SPAN which is more than enough.

thanks

Nexus 5596 has the same active session as the 5548.
