Hi Experts,

I have been facing some issue with Cisco Nexus 7706 switch.

I am trying to configure FEX on one of the 40Gig line card port (N77-M324FQ-25L).

I have enabled

install feature-set fex

feature-set fex

and then configured one of the interface as a channel-group 101, then in port-channel trying to give switchport mode fex but not accepting as the physical switch port capability showing FEX fabric-No

I am using version 8.0.1 and also uploaded EPLD image and installed then restarted but still the same issue.

Can some one can help to resolve the issue.

Thanks,

Ashok

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

I did as per the document but still showing Fex fabric - No

I did the below command on my M3 card

interface breakout module 5 port 1 map 10g-4x

The procedure in the document is for F3 card but ours is M3 card.

Thanks,

Ashok

Assuming the FEX supports 10G link (validate this). Hard code the speed and disable auto-negotiation.

(config)# no system default interface 40g auto-negotiation

 I hope this helps.

Go with 'no negotiate auto' command first. ''no system default interface 40g auto-negotiation'' is a global command so please be aware before using it.

Hi,

Fex model is 2348TQ and as per the document you shared, the minimum NX-OS code to support FEX in M3 card is 8.1.1.

Will go to customer site today and check with latest code and update the status.

Thank you and all for your valuable suggestions.

Thanks,

Ashok

Hi,

The issue got resolved after upgraded the NX-OS code from 8.0.1 to 8.2.1.

Thank you for your help.

Ashok
