Nexus 9000v on ESXi 6.5 - Interface binding problems

Hi guys.  I'm trying to get the 9Kv switch to run on ESXi 6.5 but I cannot ping across any interfaces no matter how I configure them.  I have tried using ephemeral, static, dynamic port groups, made sure the pg have promiscuous enabled.  I have tried trunks, access port and even tried distributed port groups even though the docs said they wouldn't work.

Does anyone have some working configs please?

it speaks of cisco UCS, but will work with other hardware

Thanks for your response.  I have seen that doc and it didn't have anything that gave me any more direction unfortunately.  Hoping someone that has also spent a bunch of time fighting through the same kind of issues can shed some light...
