Nic teaming on 3750 switches

Hello, If we have 3750 stackable switches and If I want to configure switches for nic teaming. If I configure ports for Ethernet channel do they have to be on same switch or can it be one nic card to one switch and the other nic card to another stackable switch is is possible to configure Ethernetchannle and is it best practice than have the two ports in the same switch? Thanks,

Hi,

Yes, if the switches are stacked.  You can create a Portchaneel and use one NIC going to one switch and the other NIC going to the other switch.  As a matter of fact, if you want redundancy, this is a very common set up. It is also best practice.

Agree with what Reza has said. Just additional:

If you configure your servers as active/passive, no configuration is needed at the switches and it is fully supported.

If you configure your servers as active/active, you need to configure etherchanneling (LACP), please refer to:
