NTP Peering with AIX Servers

Hi,

I have cisco switches, router and firewall trying to sync time with AIX NTP servers. All of them are not successful.

AIX server (172.16.1.41) is stratum 2, it sync its time with Windows NTP server (172.16.1.51)

I understand that cisco can't sync with Windows NTP because Win NTP is not true ntp service.

Now, we setup an AIX server NTP service, and try to use AIX server as ntp server but it seems that same problem as windows happened, with "show ntp associations detail" show "insane and invalid".

Anybody has any idea?

Message for the router is as below:

I am not very familiar with the services on the AIX server. But if the AIX server is learning its time from a Windows server, then I wonder if AIX is running true NTP or whether it is running something like SNTP which would be compatible with Windows but not adequate for NTP with Cisco.
