Hi @panchociti2

Try this:
1-Switch to simulation mode
2-Run a ping to any device
3-Click play
4-Now the names of the sinters should be displayed

Open the packet tracer ------ from the option tab in the menu bar, select preferences ---------- under interface option, tick the box for “show device name label”

This worked for me. Cisco Packet Tracer 8.1.1

On top of packet tracer there is bar with options like File, Edit, ... click on Options -> Preferences... In first tab called Interface, left side of a window, there is option called "Always Show Port Labels in Logical Workspace" make sure box next to it is ticket out.
