Password Issue Catalyst 2960-s PoE

I am trying to recover the password of Catalyst 2960-s PoE ( WS-C2960S-24PS-L 12.2(55)SE3 C2960S-UNIVERSALK9-M) but no options are working like by pressing Mode button and by giving the under mentioned commands 

switch: flash_init

switch: load_helper

switch: dir flash:

When these commands are given it shows;Translating "flash_init"...domain server (255.255.255.255)

Can someone help Please?

Hi there,

those are ROMMON commands. You need to disconnect the power, hold the mode button then reattach the power cable:

Step 6 Press the Mode button and at the same time, reconnect the power cord to the switch.

You can release the Mode button a second or two after the LED above port 1 goes off. Several lines of information about the software appear along with instructions:

The system has been interrupted prior to initializing the flash file system. The following commands will initialize the flash file system, and finish loading the operating system software#

Hello @sohani3653 ,

it is not enough to press the mode button to go to ROMMON you need to power cycle the switch when the switch is powered on you press the mode button for 5-10 seconds this is the way to go to ROMMON

the message

Translating "flash_init"...domain server (255.255.255.255)

this message is an error message of IOS and this means you are not in ROMMON
