Hi,

As per PIM behaviour in Dense mode, PIM Dense Mode Asserts - When two routers both forward the same (S, G) multicast traffic onto a

common multi-access LAN, duplicate traffic is generated.

But if we have configured PIM in Sparse mode with Anycast configuration. Is it possible that we can have duplicate multicast packet with indicatino of assert message?

I'm seeing this in Multicast traffic when i have configured Anycast.

Can any PIM Multicast expert help to understand better.

Rgds

you may configure PIM sparse-dense mode to eliminate the likelihood of duplicate frames...
