Port-channel 6840x and 2960x

Hi All,

We have a VSS setup of 2 6840x switches. We want to create a mutlichassis etherchannel to a 2960x stack (2 switches).

The 2960x stack has 1G spf's

The 6840x's have 1G SPF

When we create the port-channel, both links come up, but we are not able to get the port-channel working. The port-channel comes up with 1 link (P) and the other stays in stand-alone (I). When we disable the active link, the stand-alone link comes up.

We have tested several settings, PAGP, LACP, and without negotiation. But nothing works.

When we use another 2960x with 10G spf+ and use 10G spf+ on the 6840, the port-channel works fine.

Has anyone experience this issue before?

Thanks,

Joris

Hi Joris,

It sounds like you have configuration inconsistencies. Can you post the configuration of the port channel and the bundled links on both ends? Use this command to clear any configuration inconsistencies on all etherchannel links - default interface range fa0/1,0/2. Be careful with this command as it will wipe all configuration from the listed interfaces.

Thanks
