Hello.
We are testing out Port Security on one of our spare switches. We have it enabled and all the ports locked (secure permanent).
We configured Computer A to Port 2.
We configured Computer B to Port 10.
When Computer A and B are in their respective Ports, they can communicate with each other. When we plug Computer B into a different port, they can no longer communicate (this is what we want). But the Port light still displays green and the UI still claims that the Port is UP when in reality it is DOWN.
Has anyone come across this issue? Is there a setting or configuration that we haven't defined? Any help is appreciated.

Hello,
do you mean the port with nothing attached and no cable connected is displaying as UP ?

No, sorry.
When we plug Computer B (which is assigned to Port 10) to Port 11-50 (which have a max device of 0), it lights up and shows UP in the UI.

Which port lights up ? 10 ? Or 11 - 50 ? The port lighting up just means there is a physical layer 1 connection. Port security is happening at a higher layer.

Whichever port (11-50) that we plug into.
I still don't understand how the UI shows the Port as UP and Enabled.
When we plug Computer C, which isn't configured to any Port, to Port (11-50) it doesn't light up nor say UP in the UI.
