Port security with Sticky and Static MAC

Hi,

I have enabled port-security with Sticky = 1 on my switches. That works great.

Now, I want to also add a static MAC along with the sticky. When there is an endpoint that is having an issue, I want to be able to plug in the Test device (static mac) in that port. There will only be one test device for all ports. Is it possible to mix how the macs are captured on a switch for port-security?

Hi,

You can mix the sticky and static MAC address port security config as long as it follows the maximum allowed number of MAC addresses configured for that port:

switchport port-security

switchport port-security maximum 2

switchport port-security mac-address xxxx.yyyy.zzzx

switchport port-security mac-address sticky xxxx.yyyy.zzzz
