I was upgrading a Catalyst 4506-E power supplies from 2 - 2800W 220v with a single 220 connection for each power supply and going to 2 - 4200W 220v with 2 - 110v connections for each power supply. Now my available wattage is lower than the 2800W power supplies.... why? Here are the outputs of a switch with 2800W power supplies and a switch with the new 4200W power supplies. Notice the switch with the smaller power supplies has a maximum available wattage of 2800 while the switch with the larger power supplies only has a max of 2100. Why is it less? Is it because the 2800 has 1 - 220v connection and the 4200 has 2 - 110v connections?
