This is probably a really noddy question but when looking at the mac address table on a cat 6509 what does the * - primary entry represent?
We have a single 6509 connected to access switches via trunk links(no etherchannels) without any kind of resiliency and over 50% have the * prefix whilst others don't.
I've Googled it but can't find any thing useful.
