Problem migrating from default VLAN (1) to tagged vlan

Hello everyone;

I am facing a problem to finish a VLAN migration from default (1) to one that I created for the office (50).

The company network is 100 users, we have 4 switches (3750) connected through port-channel. We were using vlan 1 (default) for the implementation phase, but we decided to migrate everything to a vlan tagged (50).

In order to try a smooth migration, I created vlan 50 on the switch (it was replicated to the others by VTP), assigned it to a port and bridged it to another port on vlan 1 using a crossover cable. After doing it I gradually configured the switch ports to our tagged vlan (50), port by port.

Finally, I set up the port where our ISP link connects to the switch on vlan 50 as the last step, but I noticed that when I remove the crossover cable bridging vlan 1 and 50, we lose connectivity with the internet.

I checked online for the reason and I noticed that I have to configure the switch to allow inter-vlan routing, but for me this does not make sense, since the port itself where the link arrives is already on vlan 50.

Please, any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Hi

Please correct me if Im understanding wrong.

All the users are under the vlan 50, also you have connected the Router who is providing internet access to a switchport under the vlan 50 as well.

The users should not have any problem communicating between them, right?. The vlan 50 is installed on the 4 switches via VTP. My question is if the IP of  the router is over the same network segment like the computers? What router model are you using?

For example

vlan 50 = 192.168.50.0 255.255.255.0

Users: 192.168.50.10 to 192.168.50.150

Router= 192.168.168.50.200

Intervlan routing is used to enable the communication between different vlans.

Hello!

The users aren't having problems communicating between themselves, not to the internet, since I leave the crossover cable connecting VLAN 1 to VLAN 50 (connecting ports gi 1/0/27 to 28).

I'm attaching the configuration below.

The router is connected to port gi1/0/25, which was configured for VLAN 50. Gateway IP is 10.122.65.253 and the user IP range is 10.122.65.X

Router is a: Cisco CISCO1941/K9 (revision 1.0) with 491520K/32768K bytes of memory.
