qos flow

Hi ,

I have basic question in terms of applying qos policy.

when implementing qos policy we have to take one way or it bidirectional traffic flow ,

if it is bidirectional we have to apply

"service-policy out" on the both incoming and outgoing interface on the router/switch so that it will cover onward and return flow.

but most of the documents I can see only considering one way traffic flow

for eg "A to B not B to A"

Is my understanding is correct?

Regards,

Rajesh.

See Qos is meant for traffic shaping from INSIDE NETWORK to OUTSIDE NETWORK.

Mean whatever traffic epassing from internal network to wan link... we are doing traffic shape for that.

That is obvious one way... we are not going for traffic shape at ISP end.

In your example... you said doing A TO B (In this case you are seating location A not B)

You can do traffic shaping B LOCATION also but for that you need to create another session ID.

Same configuration you can apply at B Location also by changing session ID.
