Recall command history after reload

I recall at one point that I was able to retrieve the command history from a 6509 even after a reload of the switch. I can't recall how and I've been searching documentation for a while now without much luck.

If anyone can point me to the right link or tell me how to do that I'd really appreciate it.

I don't think it is possible to retrieve the command history after a reload, since the history buffer is cleared during the reload.
