I have two c9300 and two c3850 switches configured in a REP ring. All switches are running ios 16.9.6.
Whilst REP is running fine, the recovery time for traffic is significant - 5 to 10 seconds. This is for two end user devices communicating via TCP. Switches 1 & 4 (c3900) are the ends of the ring and have 'edge' ports configured. Switches 2 & 3 (C3850) comprise the rest of the ring. The end user devices are plugged into switches 1 & 3.
Given REP has a convergence time of <200ms, i was surprised that traffic takes 5 to 10 seconds to resume when I break the ring.
