Yes you can do that if you want to increase the throughput as below there are multiple options in ASR , just giving you the option if you need extra throughput , whether its a rip off is your own opinion :) Cisco is expensive and ASR are top range routers , but if your going to use the 10gb wan ports I think from checking it before you need it , we didn't have to , I have 150mb wan circuits connected to them working fine
