Routing and vlan

Good day

i have configured my cisco 9300 with inter vlan routing. (192.168.0.X, 192.168.1.x,192.168.2.x,10.168.0.x,10.168.1.x) etc.

my pc is on the 192.168.0.x network with my gateway being 192.168.0.1. i can ping all ip addresses sucsesfully from my pc.

However my question is. when i run a program like advanced ip scanner from my pc it does not pickup any other ip address range. this also makes it difficult as i run Avigilion CCTV software. if i load the camera manually it works as i stated i can ping all adddresses but when auto searching again it doesnt pick up on other ip address ranges.

any advise , is there something i still need to config on the swithc (broadcasting?) or must i add extra ranges on my NIC

any advise appreciated

Hello,

which scanner are you using ? I know of the one below:

https://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com

Either way, the problem does not necessarily have to be the switch. Have you tried to turn off the (Windows) firewall on your PC ?

The SVI (Vlan interfaces) have some default settings, we would need to find out how exactly the scanner works. You can toggle some setting like:

interface Vlan 10

--> ip directed-broadcast

and check if turning that on makes a difference...

Hello

From your pc can you ping the other l3 interfaces of the 9300 core switch?

What state are these other interfaces- are they up?

also advise NOT to enable ip directed broadcast it isn’t required for you to ping your lan

Hi

yes i can ping everything on all vlans from my pc. the i am just wondering why when i do a ip scan only devices that shows up are the ones my Computer ranges is on so for instance i ping 192.x.x.x. and 10.x.x.x but when i scan i only find 192.x.x.x devices

Hello,

since we don't know which scanner you are using, and what port you are scanning on, it keeps being guesswork what causes your problem. The Advanced IP Scanner I mentioned earlier only lets you scan the subnet of the local machine or one class C subnet.

Hello
Then you need to have the facility to scan a range of subnets from this app otherwise it sounds like its scanning only the network the pc is assign too.
