Hi guys,
here's my question:
i have the following devices: 1 rps 2300, 1 gateway 2851 and 1 switch WS-C3750G-24TS-S1U.
tha question is that i have to attach those two devices to the rps to provide power redundancy.
Could anyone tell me the steps that i have to follow to do this?
Maybe it's a stupid question but i tried to setup this once but no success, so for the next one i would like to do it well.
Thank you so much

You only need connect power cable of the devices (switch and router) to RPS.

Hi andre,
just a question: do i have to connect the devices with the rps powered on? If so, the rps has to be in active or standby mode?
Thank you very much

Uosambela,
Yes, the RPS must be powered on.
The RPS must be in standby mode.

hi Andre,
thanks for all. I think that i have understood it but if you don't mind i'll put all the steps that i will follow and please correct me if i'm wrong.
connecting the rps:
1) power on the rps
2) put the port in standby mode
3) ocnnect the device to the rps
4) put the port in active mode
repeat the las 3 steps for each device i connect to the rps.
testing the rps:
This are the tests i will do.
disconnect the main power source from cisco 3750.
Reconnect it.
Doing it this way i think the switch will not reboot.
As i understand the 3750 (nor E serie) will not switch aautomatically d epower source to the main one. the E series do it automatically, right?
Same thing with the 2851 gateway.
Is all of this correct?
Thank you very much Andre for your help.
