RV325 - Connect 2 Private Networks

I am working with a Small Business client to upgrade their network.  They currently have a 6 year old setup for WAN & VoIP using Forefront 2010 TMG.  The TMG Server is set up as the gateway to the WAN, which connects to an ISP that handles the Voice.  The TMG handles VPN connectivity to the "old" network.

I installed a Cisco RV325 to connect to a new Comcast Business High Speed WAN (connected on WAN2 on the RV325) and created a new network for Desktop PC's (the Default VLAN 1 on the RV325). Everything works fine on this network, I get fast internet access.

What I need to do is leave the VoIP services on the old network and connect the Desktop PC's to the new network (each workspace has 2 RJ45's hooked into a patch panel).

The old network is 192.168.254/24 and the new network is 192.168.252/24.  old network uses Netgear FS728TP & GS748T Smart Switches.

So, the first question is, can I physically connect the networks together by patching a cable from a smart switch (on the old network) to one of the RV325 LAN ports?

The second, and more important question, is, how do I configure the RV325 to allow devices on the 192.168.252/24 network to "route" through the RV325 to the old, 192.168.254/24 network?

I've tried to:

1) patch a cable from a smart switch and Port 14 on the RV325

2) create a new network/VLAN on the RV325, give it an IP on the 192.168.254/24, and exlcude Port 14 on the default VLAN

3) allow inter-VLAN routing

4) added a static route to the 192.168.254/24 network

Nothing seems to work, i.e. I can't even ping the gateway (192.168.254.1) on the old network.

Any help on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
