Serial Number Verification

Hi,

We have recently purchased 8 Fiber SFP modules (Model # GLC-LH-SMD) from a Cisco partner, but 2 of them observed faulty. Vendor provide us the replacement but both replace SFPs were again observered faulty.

I want to verify the serial numbers of SFPs from Cisco because I don't think so that Genuine box packed SFPs can be observed on first plug in. If any verification tool is available then please share with me.

If the SFP is fake, the SFP port will go into error-disable. 

Alternatively, send an email to tac@cisco.com and the Entitlements Team will immediately determine if the component is legitimate or not.
