SG550XG-24T Fatal Error in Stack

Hi Community,

while checking our monitoring systems yesterday I saw that one of our switch stacks, consisting of two SG550XG-24T units connected with SFP-H10GB-CU1M cables, got a fatal error resulting in loss of stacking functionality.

Software version is 2.2.8.4

Log of the master unit shows the following message:

***** FATAL ERROR *****
Reporting Task: HCLT.
Software Version: 2.2.8.4 (date Dec 21 2016 time 22:00:14)
ros(HOSTG_fatal_error+0x14) [0x2510a4]
ros(OSSYSG_fatal_error+0x148) [0x7929cc]
ros(EXTHWC_SF_mdioRead+0x64) [0x9ecb90]
ros(SFPhyMdioRead+0x28) [0x9f1e48]
ros() [0x9eb0c0]
ros(EXTHWG_SF_dispatch+0x6c) [0x9ec8d8]
ros(HALP_config_phy_get_internal_oper_status_2+0x14) [0xa57a8c]
ros(HALP_config_phy_perform_phy_operation+0xc4) [0xa49dcc]
ros(HALC_config_phy_perform_phy_operation+0x108) [0xa5e1c4]
ros() [0xa17c

Before that message the only thing mentionable is a timeout to the slave unit.

There was no loss of power or something else that could explain that behaviour.

Does any body have an explanation for that error? A possible software bug?

Next strange thing: after five hours stack links came back up und the stack recovered itself without any action.
