I am configuring 2 sge2010p switches in stack mode for a multiple vlan deployment. The management interface is the default 192.168.1.254 which I can acess and configure through the GUI. I have added several VLAN's and at the moment the new switches are hanging off the old HP's that are currently being used for the company. I have 2 vlans currently one for data and one for voice. Both are functioning. However anytime I try to add an IP4 interface to the switch and assign it to a vlan it cuts off my connection to VLAN1. I am then unable to access the management interface at all. Including telnet. At first I just thought I was cutting my own string by entering the wrong IP in the interface. After some testing even when I enter an interface on an nonexistant subnet or a Vlan with no ports assigned to it I still get my connection terminated. My only recourse is to reset the switch. I am unfamiliar with the small business edition switches since on the enterprise versions this configuration is easy.
I would apprecaite any input. Thanks.
