Hi there,
does anyone of you has an idea to get on a Nexus7k (Version: 6.1.2) or a 3560 (Vers. 12.2 (58) SE2) Switch
to display the Broadcast Packets In and/or Out in a VLAN?
On a normal switch port interface that is possible without any problems.
For example with Following commands.:
- Sh interface eth3/46 counters
- Sh int eth3/45
If I want to display me the same on a VLAN that does not work.
Has anyone an idea for that problem?
Cheers

Please try 'show vlan counters'?
What commands have you tried?

Hi thx`s,
that was the command I needed.
The command sh vlan id 3000 counters show me the Broadcast Packets in the corresponding VLAN.
As a test I had run a parallel tcpdump test.
But now the captured traffic on the broadcast mac address
( ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff ), is much more (overall about 68 broadcast packets) as in the Switch statistic.
The switch has shown me just 4 packets in the same time (about 45 seconds).
Command on the Server:
tcpdump -ni bond0.3000 "ether host ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff"
Which number is the right one? Do you have an idea where the problem could be?

This topic is really interesting and does also apply to me.
Are there further hints/solution that can be given?
