Show Controller command's result:  http://i.imgur.com/QfeaZ1I.jpg

I was wondering how do I vertify the following on the serial 0/0 of a router by looking at show controllers command result?

An external CSU/DSU is not in use.

  • No clock rate is set.
  • The interface has a DTE serial cable attached to it.
  • The s0/0 interface is shutdown.
  • The interface has an Ethernet cable attached.

The answer is no CSU/DSU and no clock rate, But I am very unfamiliar with the show controllers result.

  • No clock rate is set.

the clock is set at 200000

  • The interface has a DTE serial cable attached to it.

yes

  • The s0/0 interface is shutdown.

do a sh int s0/0 to see if the interface is in up mode or shutdown

  • The interface has an Ethernet cable attached.

You can't attached an Ethernet cable to a serial interface

Hello and thank you for your respond.

Although I am still a bit more confused so I try to be more specific in this reply. As I mentioned the correct answer is there is no CSU/DSU is in use and No clock rate is set. So there is no DTE serial cable attached as you replied. What I like to know is How did we conclude there is no clock rate set? Is it becasue the clock rate is already set to the default version 200000?

And also how can I verify that the interface didn't have a DTE cable attached to it? Do I verify this by looking at the result, Line that says "DCE 530"?

I hope I was more clear in this reply, Thanks again.
