I have cisco switch WS-C4948E and type the command below

Switch Bandwidth Utilization : 100%

Supervisor Led Color : Green

Module 1 Status Led Color : Green

Who can explain the meaning of Switch Bandwidth Utilization: 100%?

For some reason, the entire bandwidth of the switch (100%) is being utilized.

Is the CPU also running high?

CPU use only 8% at the same time Switch Bandwidth Utilization : 100%

Can you explain more detail or document of Switch Bandwidth Utilization?

Do a show "int summary" and check to see how busy the ports are . It's possible the switch bandwidth could be totally consumed if you have a lot of ports that are maxed out as most traffic is switched in hardware and never hits the CPU . Then it could just be a IOS bug.

Hi,

The Switch Bandwidth Utilization : 100% the one which you are seeing on not at all an issue to be concerned about. We have been informed that this is of no significance in a 4k switch.

We have recorded a bug for this :CSCuc09485

The IOS version is cat4500e-entservicesk9-mz.122-54.XO.bin

This switch use Gi1/1 - Gi1/32 and each interface have peak load around 400M.
