Slow LAN

Hey guys,

Not sure how to search in this forum and I am sure this has been answered before so sorry if this is repetitive.

I have a small office and we have recently upgraded to RV4000 router. Since the upgrade our LAN speed is ridiculously slow in any computers in the network. I have a print screen of a file transfer between our NAS and a local machine that show 43KB/s... even switching folders takes a second or two. Opening a photo that's stored in the NAS takes up to 1 minute to open. It's more than frustrating when you have to wait that long for one single photo to open. I am not sure what the issue is, I have done some search and found some suggestions but they proved unsuccesful. Anyone knows what I can do to fix this?

Thank you so much!

You can start here:

  • Check interfaces for errors on ports (differentiating between switching and physical errors)
  • Try auto speed/duplex on LAN-connected ports

WIthout any topology, interface stats/output, or insight to exactly what you have attempted already it is difficult to make any rock solid suggestions as to what your next step is.  Can you offer up some detail about what is connected to the router so that the community can better assist you?
