Software to create a packet and send it to the network

Hello guys,

This is a "rookie" question. There is any software that we can use in order to create and customize a packet and send it to the network? I mean, we define the ports, protocols, VID and all of that fields?

This will be very usefull to test acls etc.

I search on the internet but I didn't found anything.

Wireshark is a great tool to snif the network, for troubleshooting is awesome, I work with it since 2008.

I only try scapy and its really good.

I will try later the other one.
