spanning tree error

Hi,

While keying in command: spanning-tree vlan 1-4096 priority 0, below error was received,

% Command rejected: Bad instance list: Character #7 delimits a number which is 0

I could not find any reference to this. Appreciate all help , what does this mean and how to correct it.

Hello,

Perhaps the command itself is wrong: you have referenced an invalid VLAN range. The valid VLAN range is 1-4094. VLAN IDs 0 and 4095 are reserved, and the 802.1Q standard does not support VLAN numbers above 4095 (i.e. starting with 4096 and higher).

Try using the command

spanning-tree vlan 1-4094 priority 0
