Hello. I have production stack which were built by 3 switches 3750-X.
cc#sh switch stack-ring speed
Stack Ring Speed : 32G
Stack Ring Configuration: Full
Stack Ring Protocol : StackWisePlus
I see high ring utilization
cc#sh controllers utilization | i Ring
Stack Ring Percentage Utilization : 40
It's so strange because stackwise plus technology instead of stackwise willn't use ring if the src and dst port belong the same switch.
So i did the simple test, i was sending data with speed 8 Gb/s from Te2/1/1 Te2/1/2 (the same switch) and i expected i wouldn't see utilization more than before test, but i was wrong, i saw during the test:
Switch Receive Bandwidth Percentage Utilization : 60
Switch Transmit Bandwidth Percentage Utilization : 63
Stack Ring Percentage Utilization : 60
So, we see, that the localswitching doesn't work in stackwise plus technology, am i write ?
