Stacking of 3 Catalyst 4500e

Depending on the model of the supervisor card and the firmware it's loaded, VSS can support up to 2 chassis.

 - None, native stacking is not supported on this platform, only VSS.

Hello jorogan,

Catalyst C4500e do not support stacking at all.

As explained by Leo some models with appropriate Supervisor model and IOS image (and licenses) can support VSS on a pair of switches.

There is no way to aggregate three C4500e in a single entity.

Other Cisco switches model support stacking starting from C3750, C3750X, C3850, C3650.

C4500 has been introduced as a modular switch with linecards and has followed the features of the C6500 with last models supporting VSS like C4500X (not all of the features of C6500 are supported on C4500 notably it does not support NAT).
