Hi guys!
Nice to join in, lots of information on this forum!
So, i am new to networking, got a job as a junior network admin and my boss gived me the task of creating a report of all ports availability on all switches across the network.
My questions are:
1.Is there any OpenSource software that can give me port information ? Something like Eyes on Network, or Cacti but to retrive information about ports. I just dontwant to access the switch every time i need an information aboutports status.
2.I got about 500 switches to verify, is there any way to automatize the process ? Any recomandations ?
Thank You,
Gabriel

Hello Gabriel,
Cacti is good from open stack software which can be intergrated with all switches over SNMP and through that you can verfiy which switch ports are active and still passing traffic.
Paid software like solarwind lan surveyor are good in checking the port status and give you overlal map.
if you can manunally wants to check then issue command show inteface | include use
Hope it Helps..

Hey guys thanks for your info and support
I was wondering if there is a way to monitor Interface Operational Status in Cacti?
What is the OID for Cisco catalyst and is there any templates to install?
