We have a router 2921, it's operates properly for 4 months, and now the SYS led is amber, We have tried to plug in via RJ45 and USB 2.0. The router is never detected. The hyper terminal display remains blank and the router reload every 20 minutes.

Hi,
I am afraid the router may be toast.
In any case, you say that even if you connect to the router via its RJ45 console port, the "router is never detected". What does that exactly mean? Routers connected to a console are not "detected", they simply respond or do not respond when you access them via HyperTerminal or PuTTY.
In addition, how do you know that the router reloads itself every 20 minutes if it is not "detected"?
If there is any output from the console that you can post here then please do.
Best regards,
Peter

Hi,
thank you Peter for your reply,
on the router when we connect to the router via RJ45 console port, do not respond when we access them via HyperTerminal or PuTTY., there is nothing that appears on the window of HyperTerminal or PuTTY, there is nothing output from the console.
for your question, how do you know that the router reloads itself every 20 minutes if it is not "detected"?
the router is no longer any noise, all the LED will turn off, the fans stop, after a few seconds the fans will come back on, the LED power come back on in green and LED SYS is amber.
I hope my answer is clear.
thank you.
Best regards,
Ness.

Hi Ness,
Unfortunately, that does not look good.
I am afraid that the only option left is to try to remove all additional WIC/VIC cards, modules, PVDMs, AIMs and other expansion cards from the router, leaving it in a barebone configuration. Then, remove and reinsert all memory modules to make sure they are properly seated. Then try starting the router - still with all other network modules removed - and see if it is able to boot up. If it is, try adding the removed network and expansion modules one by one, every time trying to boot up the router. Perhaps one of the expansion modules is faulty. However, if the router does not boot up even with all expansion modules and interfaces removed then I am afraid the router will need to be replaced.
Best regards,
Peter
