I'm looking at improving the speed and resilience of a 250+ user network with 10 servers. Everything is connected through 8 3com 4400 switches.

Can anyone recommend a switch that will allow the servers and either the current or new switches (possibly 2960s) to connect providing a gigabit backbone and any recommedations for resilience would also be welcome.

Many thanks

If you want the switches to have some Layer-3 and/or Power over Ethernet capabilities, you can go for Catalyst 3560 Series Switches.
