Should both DC inputs of the Cisco IE2000 be connected to the same power supply? Though not fully redundant, DC-A and DC-B are connected to separate internal power supplies. Therefore, the same external power supply could be used for DC-A and DC-B... Thank you so much for responding to me. There are two separate units in the power supply. One or two sources of power can be used to power switches, depending on the model. When both power sources are in operation, the higher voltage power source draws power from both. In the event of a power outage, the switch will continue to operate with the other power source. Whenever a system has redundant power supplies, each should be connected to a separate power source. It is possible that you will lose power if you fail to do this due to a fault in the external wiring or a trip in the circuit breaker.
