Having an issue where wireless clients frequently lose internet connectivity. Clients do not lose wireless connection & LAN access is unaffected.. only internet access drops. Clients will eventually regain internet access after a lengthy wait... or sometimes a restart of their device. We have tested this issue with multiple different access points (Cisco & Netgear) & it does not seem to be brand related. Wired clients do not lose internet connectivity.
We have an ASA5505 acting as our firewall, connected to provider's cable modem. Primary switch is a C3650-48, which is acting as our gateway, dhcp & wireless controller. There is also a C3650-24 providing additional wired ports. Network is a single VLAN. Nothing too complicated.
What could be causing this?

Sounds like an ARP issue.

We are facing a very similar problem at the moment but only the APs at a certain floor are affected. APs on other floors connected to the same WLC are working just fine (thats what the clients said). What kind of ARP issue do you suspect? What can I do to narrow down the problem?

I would agree. I have tried clearing ARP cache, and have also physically rebooted the switches. There has been no change in the performance. I have also had 2 different APs on the LAN with different SSIDs. When switching the client from one SSID to another a client will pick up an IP address almost immediately, but will not be able to ping the local subnet, as well as the internet. Waiting 5-10 minutes & then renewing the IP usually fixes everything. This is proving to be a bit of a problem, as our office space is large enough that i need multiple APs for coverage. Clients experience this outage when roaming from one AP to the next.
Any thoughts on a fix?
