I've upgraded the image on some of our switches using the bin files, but how do I upgrade a switch that uses a tar file, it seems I need to expand the file somehow?
Put the tar file on your tftpboot server then on the switch use the "archive download ' command to download the file . This will download the file , extract the file and automatically change the boot statement .
