Hi, i have seen a lot of dicsussion on the "peer-gateway" command under the vpc domain. It makes sense using it when you are doing layer-3 on your nexus vpc peers, as an attached device might not send a response back on the hsrp/vrrp mac-address.
My design is as follows- I have a pair of nexus 5000s in a vpc domain that are purely layer-2. I have load-balancers, storage and FIs connected to them in a vpc fashion. Does it make any difference if I use "peer-gateway" because as such my N5ks do not handle any layer 3 routing?

Hi,
You don't need peer-gateway if your devices are layer-2 only. Peer-gateways is used with HSRP or VRRP.
