Vtp pruning pass through vtp transparent switch ???

    topology is here

     65sup720----vss---45---35---35

     65sup720 works as vtp server mode,   VSS works as vtp transparent mode.   45.,35 works as vtp client mode.

      we found vtp pruning works is weird on 45 switch. vss has vlan 100 ,45 35 learn vlan 100 from vtp server, but 45 is pruning vlan 100 on its interface.

          is there any problem related to this case,  such as vss works as vtp transparent mode in the middle!

there is any client in vlan 100 on the 35k or the 45k?

if no client exists c45k behaviour is correct as no end devices interested in receiving broadcast, multicast and unknown unicast exist in vlan 100 on the c45k and downstream.

be aware that this does not limit the number of STP instances running on the systems, this is not a problem on c45k but it might be on C35k.

configuring the list of permitted vlans manually helps in STP scalability.
