What Cisco 2811 async interface settings would stop a Nokia firewall from fully booting when serial console is connected?

For serial console access we have a Cisco 2811 with hwic async interfaces connected to our Nokia firewall on its serial console port.  During power up of the Nokia firewall, it stopped it's boot at a prompt waiting for a command to boot.  Are there appropriate settings on the Cisco async interfaces that are needed when connecting to Nokia firewalls via serial console?

As soon as I disconnected the Cisco async cable interface from the Nokia serial console and cycled power the Nokia restarted fully without any manual intervention.

Adding the following statements to the async line corrected the boot up issue:

no exec

stopbits 1

flowcontrol NONE
