The 4500X switch the feature VSS is supported on IP-Base.

Is there any info on the VSS license for SUP7L-E ?

Under Table 5 - Support by Image Type; VSS is listed as available on IP Base (SUP7E only) and a plain Yes under Enterprise Services

Under Table 1 - Minimum License for VSS; IP Base or higher (7-E) or special license (7-LE and Catalyst 4500-X)

There appears to be no option on the CCO configuration tools to add VSS license on 4500R+E chasiss bundles with for example dual SUP7L-E and IP Base

Not sure if you read my post.

VSS will work without IP services license. There is no need to have the ip services license to use this feature.

If you just have base license that is sufficient to use the VSS feature.

VSS will work with plain IP Base.

Not sure if this is the same with the Sup8E.
