We have switch migration this weekend where we will be reprogramming a few of our vlans and making a number of changes to the management settings on the switches. As a result we will be erasing the configs and copying over new configs. When we do this will the switch stack member ship change? Is there anyway to preserve that part of the config?
Please let me know if you do.
Thanks.

Hi Victoria
The switch stack member number and priority will not change if you erase the startup-config, I've tried on my lab, below the outputs:
Switch#del nvram:startup-config
Delete filename [startup-config]?
Delete nvram:startup-config? [confirm]
Switch#reload
Reload command is being issued on Active unit, this will reload the whole stack
Proceed with reload? [confirm]
*Sep 16 10:23:34.207: %SYS-5-RELOAD: Reload requested by console. Reload Reason: Reload command.
............
Would you like to enter the initial configuration dialog? [yes/no]: n
Press RETURN to get started!
Switch#sh swi
Switch/Stack Mac Address : e089.9dce.6380 - Local Mac Address
Mac persistency wait time: Indefinite
H/W Current
Switch# Role Mac Address Priority Version State

When we do this will the switch stack member ship change?
If, after the configuration has been changed and, the stack get gets rebooted, yes. The stack membership will change because, by default, there will be a stack membership election.
Is there anyway to preserve that part of the config?
Yes, do switch stack pre-provisioning.
