Hi,
When I have a C4507 as below (I am thinking about adding a second SUP7L) is it possible to use the 10G ports of both supervisors at the same time?
I will need 4 x 10G ports and because each suppervisor has 2 x 10G I was wondering if I would be able to use the four ports at the same time.
WS-C4507RE+96V+ | WS-C4507R+E Chassis, two WS-X4648-RJ45V+E, Sup7L-E, LAN Base | 1 |
WS-X45-SUP7L-E/2 | Catalyst 4500 E-Series Supervisor LE, 520Gbps redundant | 1 |
WS-X45-SUP7L-E | Catalyst 4500 E-Series Supervisor LE, 520Gbps | 1 |
Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Juan,
you can use in total 4 10 gig ports from the two SUP modules. As per the configuration document:
When you use WS-X45-SUP7-E in RPR or SSO mode, only the first two uplinks on each supervisor engine are available. The second two uplinks are unavailable.
On top of that, you can view the datasheet (High-Availability and Uplink Options for Supervisor Engine 7-E section) and you will see other options of using 10gig & 1gig link on these uplink ports.

Hope this the above information helps.

You know, I think you guys may have something confused here. Juan was asking about the WS-X45-SUP7L-E/2 and Neeraj replied with information on the on the WS-X45-SUP7-E. The L-E and E are two different products. The L-E only has two 10 gig ports while the E has 4. Juan wanted to know if he added the second supervisory engine. Here is the correct document for the L-E model:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps4324/data_sheet_c78-686325.html
By reading that document it would appear in Figure 2 that when you configure the L-E in resilient mode that you only have one active 10 Gig port and one standby 10 Gig port.
