HI
I installed SFP-10G-LRM on 2960S switch and X2-10GB-LRM on 6708-10G-3CXL modules on 6500 chassis
When we put two 2960S switch on both side of a fiber link ( 80m length ) it work without any problem on 10G speed but when one side is X2-10GB-LRM ( 6500 switch ) and other side is SFP-10G-LRM ( 2960S switch ) it doesn’t connect and link is down
Any idea what is the problem?
Regards,
Saeed.

Hi Saeed,
Have you try changing the speed nonegotiate (one side or both sides), and see what happen?
If IOS allows, try setting media type under interface.

Hi
Thanks
Not
Is 10G modules speed negotiable?
I know 1G SFPs only connect on 1000 not 10/100
Saeed.

Hi Saeed,
Have you tried under interfacing this and setting to sfp media type or speed?
ROUTER(config-if)#media-type ?
rj45 Use RJ45 connector
sfp Use SFP connector
OR
sw01(config-if)#speed ?
nonegotiate Do not negotiate speed
